Domain Forwarding

There are two types of Domain Forwarding:

  • Simple - 1 domain for 1 landing page/lead capture site
  • Complex - 1 domain for all of your landing pages/lead capture sites (cost effective option)

Simple Domain Forwarding

With Simple Domain forwarding, you have 1 domain that you would provide your lead with for them to access the lead capture page. When you mail your letters with this type of forwarding, you would just put the domain name in the letter: www.mydomainname.com.

Step by Step Instructions

1) Pull up Godaddy and log in.

2) Click "Manage" next to Domains
3) From your Domains menu, select the Domain that you wish to use. (It should be in Blue)
4) Locate the "Forwarding" field from your settings tab, and click "Manage".
5) From the Forward and Masking page that has popped up, select the "Add one now >>" option that is in Blue.
6) Locate the FORWARD SETTINGS Field above the http:// box and type in the link to the page you want to forward your site to, you can get this link from instant biz. Make sure that your link starts with WWW. Add and then Save.

Complex Domain Forwarding

With Complex Domain forwarding, you have 1 domain that masks the beginning part of your URL. Initially your lead capture site URLs look similar to this: http://instantbizsites.com/Username/free-evaluation

When you set up the complex forwarding, the URL should be www.mydomainname.com/free-evaluation when provided to your leads. If you do not include the /url-slug in your letter, the page will not load properly.
